Churches
Churches are the center of Samoan social and political organizations in America. As powerful institutions, they have the capacity to mobilize the community. SCDC will continue to work with the churches to engage their help in our community's development.
On February 25, 2000, SCDC invited 15 church ministers (faifeaus) and their wifes (faletuas) to a special breakfast. The purpose was to begin a dialogue with the churches to improve our ability to reach more of our community. Moreover, we wanted to discuss with the church leaders additional ways of improving our programs and services. We hope to continue this important dialogue in future months.
