The Asian Pacific Islander Family Resources Network

The primary goals of APIFRN are to strengthen families and reduce the risk of abuse and neglect for children in high-risk families, recently reunited families, and other families in
the Asian/Pacific Islander (API) community with the focus on families with children from 0 to 5 years of age.

The Network is designed to maximize the use of existing resources in the community, increase the accessibility of program services, and increase the level of parent participation.

The Network is culturally sensitive in terms of staffing skills and language capabilities and geographically accessible by being based in six San Francisco communities.

These agencies are located in the community and provide services in eight languages: Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin), Tagalog, Samoan, Vietnamese, Cambodian, Laotian, Korean, and Japanese.

The API Family Resources Network is designed to coordinate in the most effective manner existing resources by co-locating staff, co-sponsoring activities in the community, providing a wide variety of program services that address the needs of the families, and sharing cultural expertise that will build capacity for all member agencies.
